We STILL need you! We’ve extended the nomination

We STILL need you! We’ve extended the nomination deadline for the 2025–2026 CMS Executive Board through our next board meeting on Tuesday, June 3rd at 6:30 PM—so there’s still time to get your name in!

CMS is a 100% volunteer-powered club. This year, one of our biggest needs is filling the Clerk position—a critical role for our status as a nonprofit, and keeping us organized and on track.

We also want to be sure our board represents everyone in our club -- all ages, all paces, all experience levels -- whether you’re just getting into running, coming back from a break, or deep into training for your next marathon. Any member can (and should!) run for the board.

Never been on a board before? Don't be intimidated. You just need to commit to our monthly meetings (first Tuesday of the month, no July meeting) and bring your CMS spirit. In total, we have 12 board positions. A couple of the Member-at-Large spots are also still unspoken for as of this writing, and it can be a great role for someone new to the club so you can learn the ropes!

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Registration for the CMS S

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Registration for the CMS Saturday 5K will be held in a new location on the WSU campus this month due to construction at the Sullivan Building.

New Location: Ghosh Science and Technology Building, room ST*213. (Basically a couple doors down.)

Registration begins at 8:15am and all other race details are the same.

We expect this to be the case from May 31st through June 28th. As always, look for the CMS cones and friendly volunteers to find your way!

The Summer Series Returns June 3rd! It doesn't fe

The Summer Series Returns June 3rd!

It doesn't feel like summer is just around the corner, but we are just a couple of weeks away from our summer-long series. Every Tuesday in June, July, and August, join us for a run!

• The West Boylston Rail Trai Fun Run Series features clearly marked 5K and 10K courses. Runs are self-timed and open to all.

• The Lake Park Summer Fitness 5K Series runs every Tuesday in July at Quinsigamond Lake Park in Worcester. Races start at 6:30 PM and are free for CMS members. Whether you're racing or volunteering, it's always a good time!

• Newton Hill XC Series kicks off in August, offering a chance to hit the trails in the heart of Worcester. It's a perfect way to gear up for cross-country season or just enjoy a tough Tuesday workout under the trees in Elm Park. Proceeds benefit the Friends of Newton Hill.

Hi CMS! We are just one week away from the Wachuse

Hi CMS! We are just one week away from the Wachusett Mountain Race, and we need a few more volunteers to make one of our biggest events of the year happen.

You don't need any experience to volunteer, and we always have a great day! Grab a friend and we'll station you together.

I've also added a couple of parking attendant positions to the sign up today, because we are likely going to overflow the regular parking lot this year. That's a nice early job if you need to be out of there by 9:30am!

And thank you to everyone that has already signed up to help before I even posted to Facebook, y'all are the best volunteers in the world and I am so grateful for all you do.

Nominations for our 2025-2026 CMS Executive Board are now being accepted. CMS is an entirely volunteer run organization, and this year we have several vacancies on the board and would love to have some new, energetic faces join us!

It does not take any experience to be a part of the board. Just the ability to commit to our meetings on the first Tuesday of every month and the enthusiasm to participate. There are 12 positions on our board: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, Clerk, Membership Secretary, and 6 Member-at-Large positions.

Congratulations, and many thanks, to our February Volunteer of the Month: Karen Pajer!

She's not one for Instagram, but next time you see her at the Saturday 5K, on the Boston Marathon Bus, at a banquet she helped organize... thank her for everything she does for our club and community!
